A bladder infection can cause some spotting and there are times that
stains on underwear can be attributed to this condition. However, in the case of stains on a
bedikah cloth, there is a higher standard of proof. We cannot just assume the blood is from the UTI, we need to know for sure. Therefore, at this point you unfortunately have to consider your
clean days ;to have been invalidated and start over again.
Due to the spotting you are experiencing we recommend reducing the number of
bedikot to the
hefsek taharah and one each on days 1, 7, and one of the intermediate clean days.
It might be worthwhile to make an appointment with your physician to see if the cause of your bleeding can be determined. If there is such a finding, you should ask your question again with the new information. Bleeding from a lesion (
dam makkah) does not make a woman
niddah or affect the clean days.
In any event, if the problem persists, you should consult with your doctor to see if there is any explanation for the bleeding and any possible or necessary treatment.
