Wednesday mikveh for Sunday wedding
February 1, 2016

Question

A kalla would like to go the mikva on Wednesday night before her Sunday wedding (which will be after sunset) so that she can go up to Har Habayit on the Thursday morning. Is this considered four days before and permitted, or is it too long in advance? Thank you.

Answer

Tevilah on Wednesday night is acceptable for a Sunday night wedding, since it is considered within the window of four days before the wedding.

While there is a preference to immerse as close to the wedding as possible, if there is a compelling or personal reason, immersion within four days of the wedding is permissible. There is no need to perform any further bedikot after the immersion.
