It is common to experience irregular bleeding during the
perimenopausal stage.
However, we do recommend consulting with your doctor to check if there is any other explanation for the bleeding. It may not be your period but could be caused by some other factor (e.g., a polyp,
cervical erosion, a vaginal
wound, or even the uterine prolapse). Please ask your physician if there is potential treatment for the condition if he/she finds one. Then get back to us with any new information from your doctor.
We also recommend reviewing the laws of staining, since not all bleeding will render you
niddah. If you experience bleeding lighter than a flow, you may take precautions against becoming
niddah from the staining. See our article on
stains for more details.
Please feel free to get back to us with any further questions.
