Is a wet bedikah cloth safe?
February 19, 2019

Question

I’ve heard that there are risks associated with douching. I clean myself internally with a wet bedikah cloth before a hefsek tahara. Does this share some of the same risks as douching? If I usually have no problem with this cleaning, can I continue or should I consult with a medical professional? Thank you.

Answer

You can safely continue cleaning internally with a wet cloth. It is not the same as douching with a vinegar rinse, or a commercially sold douche kit with fragrances and chemical additives.
