Is it proper for a husband and wife to sleep in separate beds all the time, except when they are having marital relations? Thanks!

One might infer from the prohibition against sleeping in the same bed when the wife is niddah that sharing a bed is the norm at all other times. However, when the wife is not niddah, the couple may choose any sleeping arrangement that suits them.
