Stain from hemorrhoid?

Question

After using the bathroom today I thought i saw a pink stain on the toilet paper as it was being flushed. I am not expecting my period for another week and my colored underwear is not showing any stains. I have been having a problem with a hemorrhoid though. I am also on a birth control pill and have had some spotting. What are the guidelines in such instances?

Answer

If there is something to which you can attribute bleeding, such as a hemorrhoid, this type of stain would not render you niddah. This is particularly true when there is a safek (doubt) whether you actually saw blood. For a detailed discussion, please see our articles on toilet paper and stains.
