Stains from urine leakage
June 28, 2014

Question

Since my first child was born, my bladder has been weaker and I leak urine on my white undergarments during shiva nekiim. It starts off yellow but sometimes after a while it can be a gold color. How do I know when it is considered to be a problem? Can I use my own judgment or does it have to be shown to a rav each time?

Answer

If the color is yellow or a gold that you are confident is from urine, then it may be disregarded from a niddah perspective. You may use your judgment.

Bladder leakage is common after childbirth, but can be corrected. We suggest that you contact your physician for a referral to a urogynecological physiotherapist.
