Voluntary immersion after staining
July 19, 2018

Question

I am exclusively breastfeeding my 9 month old. I had a hormonal IUD, but after 8 months of continual staining I decided to have it removed. I had 1 day of heavy staining after it was removed. My Rabbi ruled that I am not a niddah, but after all the staining I would like to visit the mikva. Especially before we conceive another child. Is there any issue with going?

Answer

It is fully permissible for a married woman to immerse in the mikveh when she is tehorah.
In this case, since immersion is voluntary, you should not make a bracha. You can substitute your own personal tefillah.
