Question

I will be traveling out of state with two of my children. My husband will be staying home with our other child. I will need to go to the mikvah while away. If I can choose based upon convenience, what do I do about bedikos and white underwear, once I have had seven clean days? I am assuming it is best to go while I am away, and not to wait until I get back home.

Answer

You need not immerse on your mikveh night if you are away from your husband. You may delay immersion until it is convenient for you. We recommend immersing the night before you return so you may have contact with your husband immediately upon arrival, but ultimately you may immerse when it best suits you, even if it is the night following your return home.

After you complete the seven clean days you may switch into colored underwear and need not perform any further bedikot until you immerse.
