Long veset interval with wartime stress
December 20, 2023

Question

My previous cycle was very long–68 days! I think because of stress from the war.

However, I have just gotten my period again (after 31 days).

I just want to make sure–getting my period should cancel the interval veset from my previous period, right? If I had not gotten my period now, my veset would have been in about a month. But now that I have gotten my period–is that irrelevant and I should just count based on my current period?

Answer

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We have heard numerous anecdotal reports of cycle changes related to war stress.

At this point, you reset your veset calendar based on your most recent bleeding. No further steps need be taken in light of your previous long interval, though you should take note if it repeats itself with another 68-day cycle. (Be in touch with us if that happens twice, even non-consecutively).

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance. May we hear besorot tovot!
