Mikveh after 3-day Yom Tov
March 23, 2021

Question

Mikvah night is Monday night of pesach this year.

It’s a 3 day Yom tov.

I don’t know if a bath is even necessary on Friday? Since it’s so far before!

I don’t know how and when to prepare.

With all the teenage kids home I find it difficult to take a bath on motzei Yom tov. How can I prepare for Mikvah? Can I take a good shower Monday night?

Answer

You can do some of the more time-consuming and long-lasting preparations on Friday, such as cutting your nails or hair removal (if you do so). Otherwise, as you noted, you should do the bulk of your preparations on Motzai Chag so that it is not so far in advance of your tevilah.

In general, if you are unable to take a bath (and bathing at the mikvah is not an option) you may take a long thorough shower, taking particular care to wash in the folds and crevices of your skin.
