Mikveh & relations on Yom Hazikaron
April 10, 2021

Question

I am supposed to go to the Mikva this Tuesday night, which is Yom Hazikaron. My husband and I feel uncomfortable having relations on that night. I wanted to know if it’s ok to push it off and if so, should I push off going to the Mikva as well or still go as it’s the end of my 7 clean days. Thanks.

Answer

We appreciate your sensitivity to the legacy of the fallen.

It is permissible for you and your husband to choose to push off relations. This is the halacha even if you immerse on time. We recommend immersing on time, in order to facilitate other forms of contact, or in case it becomes important to you to have relations on that night.
