Changing sheets on 3-day yom tov
April 17, 2005

Question

In the spirit of “not preparing for after Shabbos/Yomtov on Shabbos/Yomtov”; what do you do if you plan to make a hefsek tahara or go to the mikva during a 3 day yomtov….when are you supposed to change your linen?

My bedroom is very dark and changing before I go to sleep is NOT an option.

Answer

We suggest you make your bed before Shabbat or Yom Tov with two layers of sheets, the whites underneath.  Then, you would simply remove the top layer after your hefsek taharah. Or, if you are going to mikveh on Shabbat or Yom Tov, put the colored underneath and remove the whites after mikveh.
